This is a great coloring and tracing worksheet for the letter J for parents and caregivers to practice writing the letter and coloring with their kids at home or classroom.

🖍️ Letter J Trace and Color Worksheet
This worksheet is designed to help your child develop essential pre-writing and letter recognition skills for the letter J.
By focusing on the word “January,” it also subtly introduces a seasonal concept (winter/snow) and a common calendar word.
If it is not a winter season, there is a second page with a cute Jellyfish to introduce J letter.
Key Learning Goals:
- Fine Motor Skills: Practicing the controlled movements needed for tracing.
- Letter Recognition: Identifying the uppercase and lowercase forms of ‘J’.
- Phonics: Associating the letter ‘J’ with the /j/ sound (as in “January”).
Instructions
- Color the Big Letter J: Use your favorite crayon, marker, or colored pencil to color the large uppercase letter J at the top of the page. Make it bright!
- Trace the Uppercase J: Look at the first tracing row. Carefully trace over the dotted lines of the big J’s (uppercase J’s). Go slowly and try to stay on the line!
- Trace the Lowercase j: Now, look at the second tracing row. Carefully trace over the dotted lines of the little j’s (lowercase j’s). Remember the little dot on top!
- Color the Picture: Look at the picture at the bottom. It shows a snowman and a calendar that says “JAN” (for January). Color the snowman, the calendar, and the word “January.”
