Looking for fun Halloween decorations and craft ideas for your front door? This Trick-or-Treat countdown chain is cheap and quick to make with paper, scissors, and glue and makes an interactive, day-to-day activity while kids are waiting in anticipation for the Trick-or-Treat night!

Supplies
- Colored construction paper. I used orange, green, and purple, feel free to add any Halloween colors you like!
- Black construction paper for cauldron.
- Scissors
- Glue or stapler
- Black Marker

Instructions
Step 1

Cut colored construction paper into strips that are about 1–2 inches wide and long enough to form loops.
Step 2

Create the paper chain by making a loop with the first strip and securing the ends with glue or a stapler.
Thread the next strip through the first loop, then connect its ends. Continue adding strips until you have a long chain.
Step 3

Write a countdown number on each link, starting with 1 and continuing through the number of days until Halloween.
Step 4

Cut a cauldron shape from black construction paper. Doesn’t have to be perfect!

Attach the cauldron to the 1 link using a strip of black construction paper. Position the chain so the colorful links appear to float upward from the cauldron like magical bubbles.
Each day, remove one link from the chain. Watch the bubbly countdown get shorter as Halloween approaches!

Once ready hang your countdown chain on your door and get ready for Halloween party!
