Looking for a beautiful project to decorate your front door this fall? This mushrooms and flowers grapewine wreath will be great for people who love creative process and a bit more complex ideas.
The whole wreath can be assembled in under one hour with cheap Dollar Tree materials.
If you have kids, they are welcome to help with flowers and mushrooms in this project, too!
Supplies You’ll Need:
- 18 inch grapevine wreath (you can get it at Joann’s with a coupon, as they are quite pricey on Amazon). If you can’t find any, here is the Amazon option with 2 pieces so you can craft more 🙂
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun/ glue sticks
- Waverly tan chalk paint (you could use stain also if you have some on hand or any other brand of chalk paint in similar color)
- Dollar Tree mushrooms (I got the tan ones)
- Paint Brush
- Twine (Dollar Tree has it)
- Orange, purple and white mums from dollar tree and 1 bushel of these flowers that are white puffy balls
- Dollar Tree mini crate
- optional, moss for filling the crate
Steps To Make Fall Mushroom Wreath
Start by painting or staining your crate. If using the tan chalk paint you only need one coat
Next pop all of the flowers off of the stems and add some hot glue around the bottom of the flower and wedge it in between the grapevine. I alternated where I placed the flowers and added some of the leaves as filler.
Next secure the crate to the grapevine wreath using the twine. I just weaved it in between one of the crate slates and wrapped it through some of the grapevine.
I next added some hot glue to the bottom of the mushrooms to secure them in the crate and you could add some moss to the bottom for some added height for the mushrooms.
I made a small bow with some of the twine and added it with hot glue to the front of the crate.
And this is the final look of my fall mushroom and flower wreath:
Tip: you may not find the exact same flowers at Dollar Tree or your local craft store. Go for color combination that is associated with fall (orange, pale green, off white, yellow, darker purple). You can replace ball-shaped flowers with colorful fall leaves, stems, or even cones.
Some stores will have seasonal bushels pre-made, so you could use them, too!!
Besides mushrooms, you can glue fake apples, acorns, cute little pumpkins – anything really that is seasonal to autumn.
