If you want a safari-themed afternoon this summer, this 3D Giraffe paper craft is great screen-free activity for kids to practice scissors skills and attention to details.
You can download the template below, print it and make this cute giraffe in under 40 minutes!

This paper craft is best for ages 5-6+ as they can really cut it almost all themselves, you can still do it with younger children, by helping them with scissors.
Very cheap craft to make if you own a printer!
Supplies

- Color printer
- Printed template
- Scissors
- Glue
- Optional, bone folder or something to score and fold paper to have clean lines.
Step-by-Step Giraffe Paper Craft
First, look at the printed giraffe and check the signs: glue stick and scissors. Parts with scissors have to be cut out, too, they make legs.
Go ahead and cut the craft along the bold outline, cut out blank spaces for legs. Tail is small and you will have to help younger kids cut it out.

Score and fold the body along the bold black lines. Two white parts will be for gluing and they need to be folded inwards, too.
The long piece is for the head and it will create a hollow 3D square with colored part being the neck and white parts for gluing (one for the head and one to glue it to the body).

Now we can start gluing pieces together. You can first glue head and neck together, or assemble the body with tail, the order doesn’t really matter, in my opinion.
Head:

Body and then attach the tail at the back (the front is easy to spot, it has the white square for gluing, so the opposite side is the back).

And last step would be to connect head and body. Add some glue on the neck’s white square.
Then, holiding a finger or two inside the body behind the white square on the chest of the giraffe, with the other hand, press the neck with head attached onto this square (the fingers inside the body kinda create the base to not ruin the 3D body!).
And your paper giraffe is done!
