Original artwork made with acrylics on paper in 2022. It was then scanned on a professional scanner to make it suitable for art prints.

ABOUT THIS WORK

This work is one of the works of the series on watercolor paper using the limited color palette and fluidity of acrylic paint.

It is an abstract representation of an Identity. Dualistic. With dominant and latent sub-personalities. 

The symbolism of a Bird-headed god is intentional.

There were a few Ancient gods who had heads of birds. 

• Ra- god of sun, sky, order, and royalty. 
• Thoth – moon, learning, wisdom, and judgment, 
• Horus – sun, sky, protection, and healing.
• Huitzilopochtli – Aztec god of Sun and War,
• and many others

I think the symbolism of the Sun as a leading element for our solar system and practically life on Earth is a very important to the theme of Identity.

The most important symbol here is the opposing powers of Ra and Thoth – both being deities, one is associated with the Sun and the other with the Moon. Duality like our Identities can have two sides. 

I love working with thick paper that has its own texture, color, and tactile feelings, and I love using only black color. Black speaks loud for me wherever you put it, it doesn’t need any accessories except your open eyes.
