If you and your kids love all sorts of word games or you are looking to find some free Thanksgiving activities to keep kids screen-free but occupied while you are prepping the feast, downoald my Thanksgiving Word Search.

It is a simple brain-stimulating game that suits a wide range of ages and includes holiday vocabulary.
Supplies You’ll Need
You simply need a sheet of paper and a printer to start. Color printer is best as I decorated the page but it is not mandatory as I’ve included a version with coloring!
The word search is cool for a classroom, too, simply print as many copies as the activity you need and one copy of the answers page (for teacher) for faster and easier corrections.
* If you want to color, use acrylic markers or crayons!
What’s Included
- First page is a colored word search activity to find 12 words
- Second page is the same activity but in black and white so kids can color + find words. Two activities in one.
- Answers
The twelve words hiding in this Thanksgiving-themed word search are:
- NOVEMBER
- PILGRIM
- PUMPKIN
- HARVEST
- FAMILY
- THANKS
- CHURCH
- DINNER
- TURKEY
- ACORN
- CORN
- PIE
Words can be located horizontally, vertically, and diagonally, so this particular word search is better for older kids and teens.

How To Use Thanksgiving Word Search
- Download the printable below and print the page with the game you need: colored or bw one for coloring.
- Set a timer for kids or let them take as much time as they need. Make sure they know the “rules” and if it is their first time ever doing a word search, take time to help them find their first word.
- If using at classroom, collect all and consult the past page to see who got all the words right.
A few tips you can share with kids to help them solve this word search:
- Remind them and show on paper what does it mean that words can go all directions.
- Teach them to find the initial letters by scanning the page.
- Suggest to start with the longest words. They may seem intimidating for kids, but they are actually the easiest to find + you can work on spelling!
