Easy Star Wars Painting Ideas
STAR WARS CHARACTERS PAINTING IDEAS
#1 Darth Vader
#2 Darth Sidious (Palpatine, The Emperor)
Painting Palpatine is tricky: on one side he is all covered by a mantle which is just black, but his face is wrinkled and it can be challenging to paint for beginners. You can make only a silhouette in the darkness with electric lights coming out of his hands to simplify the task.
#3 Darth Maul
#4 Jedi Luke Skywalker
#5 Qui-Gon Jinn
#6 Obi-Wan Kenobi
#7 Princess Leia
For easy painting, you can choose to paint princess cartoon-style and JuneJenssen even created a Disney version of our Leia! If you struggle with painting faces, you can make a silhouette and fill it with a pattern or for ex., a galaxy, as Lezet did:
#8 Yoda Painting Ideas
Another crowd favorite – wise Yoda – master of Jedi for more than 800 years. He was crucial to the Clone Wars and the saga, as he trained Luke Skywalker. Painting Yoda requires a few supplies, but as he is old, we will have to carefully paint all his wrinkles (giving him an extra wise look).

#10 Baby Yoda Grogu
Child of Yoda and Yaddlle – Grogu – melted the heart of everyone who ever saw him! He is an adorable, mischievous, cute, and great friend of another fan favorite – Mandalorian. Painting him is fun and easy – he is small, wears a robe, and is simply green! Easy star wars painting idea for adults and kids.
I found two tutorials for beginners and more advanced painters:
EASY LEVEL

#11 Stormtrooper
Most people paint the portraits of stormtroopers or their helmets. It is rare when I see a full-body stormtrooper painting yet it is absolutely possible! Again, you can paint it more realistic or cartoon-style – depending on your preferences and skills.
As usual, linking to talented people teaching you how to paint easy stormtroopers painting on Youtube:

#12 Mandalorian Painting Ideas
Mandalorian has gained more fame and love with the release of the TV show and his friendship with baby Yoda. He is powerful, independent, intelligent and brave, and very loyal to his principles. A lot of fan art appeared online, so let’s eye shop for some Mandalorian painting ideas:
If you need a video tutorial, please consider watching this 2 hour live of Liesl painting Mandalorian:
#13 Boba Fett
Simple painting with opaque bright colors you can do with gouache or poster paint, not only acrylics.
#14 Kylo Ren
It is easy to recognize Kylo Ren by his mask, and it is quite easy to paint him as he is all covered by his mantle and his mask and has a red lightsaber. The easiest way to paint Kylo Ren is to make a portrait!
#15 Wookie Chewbacca
Easy Chewbacca by Kayleigh:
Easy tutorial by Gogh Studio:
#16 Porg from Ahch-To
Porgs and Chewie are often come together so Tracey Lawer had a great idea to paint (and sell) this amazing artwork:
If you want to paint just Porg, you can do it on canvas or even on some nice rocks using paints or markers.
Full video tutorial by Maxwell Hernandez on how to paint cute Porg:
#17 Han Solo Star Wars Painting Ideas
It is not easy to paint a realistic Han Solo portrait, yet you can make it simpler by using the idea of Michelle Anelli: paint a silhouette and avoid details, use one or a few bright opaque colors.

You can first draw Han Solo using this great tutorial and then paint it with acrylics:
#18 Ahsoka Tano Painting
Amazingly beautiful former Jedi Ahsoka Tano is a great choice for a Star Wars painting. You can paint her more realistic, as a full portrait, or make it look more cartoon-ish and thus easier to paint. I haven’t seen a really good youtube tutorial that will suit beginners, unfortunately!
#19 Oola
Oola had a challenging life and yet is a gorgeous Twilek female from Star Wars Universe. It is so hard to find many art ideas for Oola, it’s unbelievable, that upsets me but well, we just need to paint more and publish them online! Please do!
#20 Padmé Amidala
Extraordinary gorgeous Padme Amidala will be a great challenging Star Wars painting idea – her splendid outfit has a lot of details that will take time to paint. The less detailed your painting is, the easier it will be for you to paint.
Absolutely fascinating tutorials are online on Youtube, I love this watercolor video:
#21 Revan
Revan – a former Jedi Knight who became Dark Lord and was determined to defeat Mandalorians.

Ultimately, it can be paper, cardboard, or even wooden sticks!
